Easter Countdown

Just a quick update on Easter Shopping. I went with Ammy tonight (at Romy) in order to help her succeed in her new life goal. To make it on this blog! :-P

Truthfully though we did go shopping and she did get the most fabulous Easter top, VERY spring, VERY cute.

We also ran into Kathy Hayes. She said she was shopping for Easter as well and that this blog had only made her determined to look better for the rest of her life! Well she said something like that, probably not that, I have a bad memory.

Happy Easter shopping!

RCC Sunday 03/28/10

RCC Sunday 03/28/10. The mood was optimistic, looking forward to Spring

A few things to point out:

1.Scott Cone's tie is the best one he has worn, he is also "petrified" I am going to post something bad about him on here lol.

2. Sara Dahlin is working the winter to spring look by using a shrunken leather jacket as a transition piece.

3. Anna Tooze kept it fun with a bright fuchsia that really popped.

4. Rachel Unger opted for a jean jacket that added a nice contrast to her dress and also had a shot of color with bright lipstick.

5. Sara Cone kept the cardigan trend going with a beautiful pink one and wanted to let me know she had received THREE compliments on her outfit lol.

6. Brad Hangartner wore a great textured brown tie from Ireland that he had received as a gift.

7. Rebekah Conser rocked the super in asymmetrical striped top with a wide belt and a black rose hair piece.

8. And finally Joe Castig who accessorized his purple knitwear with this season's must have...crutches.

Until next time...ABBS

Family Camp is Coming!

So like almost everyone else at RCC the arrival of Spring makes me think of one thing. FAMILY CAMP! It is so close I can almost taste it. After seeing posts about FC on Facebook I began to look at pics from past camps and there are some gems out there.

I thought I would post a few pics from FC 07 I think highlight FC Fashion in a nice way.

As one can see FC Fashion is a diverse, which is fantastic. We have some vintage, sweaters, athletic, sweatpants, and just plain cute.

When I was around 12 I wore my favorite shirt at the time, a faux black velvet collared number, and animal print head bands I had made to FC.

The next year I was all about tie dye, and no shoes.

What are YOUR fashion memories of camp?

Easter

Ahh yes the Easter Dress. When I was little I even got a white straw hat adorned with daisies. Now days it is the Sunday I want to have a new outfit on.

So what to wear for Easter? Well last year I bought separates so I could wear them for the rest of the year, including one of my best purchases EVER, a denim pencil skirt. I have worn that skirt repeatedly! Worth every penny and was very reasonably priced, around $40.00 for what Tim Gunn would call an "investment piece." (BTW if you don't know who Tim Gunn is please google him instantly)

I also always buy a new pair of shoes for Easter, but this could just be me since I have "a problem" when it comes to buying shoes. In fact I just purchased my Easter shoes today (thank you tax refund). I won't give them away completely, but they do have a yellow gladiator thing going on.

I was just at the mall today and there were a lot of great sales. Romy had a beautiful silky green wrap dress that would be great for Easter and most items in the store were at least 25% off. Macy's had some shoe clearance for 75% off, and for the guys Nordstroms Rack had a new shipment of Ben Sherman (one of my favorite mens brands).

Above is a picture of this RACHEL Rachel Roy Ring that I am in love with...too bad it is completely sold out. ABBS

What in the World?

I know I know, what is this blog? Why does it exist? Who cares? All these questions I shoved aside because I LIKED THE IDEA OF THIS BLOG! A blog about RCC (Reformation Covenant Church) and its fashion.

Let's be honest here for a moment. Everybody sees each other on Sunday at
RCC. And everybody (usually) tries to look good, not just for the Lord but for each other. I mean how many of us are buying an Easter Dress? Exactly. Church and church functions are the place where many of us dress to impress. All I want to do is document it. Because I can.

So what can you expect to find on this blog? Hopefully pictures, articles, guest columns, maybe some fun suggestions on fashion from me. If you have an interest or some sweet ideas let me know.
